Origin, the debut graphic novel in Zondervan’s new “Messiah” series will release to retail and online Oct. 9. Messiah: Origin is the first chapter of the biography of Jesus. Origin describes how the foundations of Christianity were constructed through prophetic visions, miracles, angelic visitations, wondrous births and family bonds. Translated from ancient Greek manuscripts by Mark Arey, Origin weaves the four Gospels into one narrative. Arey’s lifetime of study and biblical training, paired with the illustrations of Lucasfilm Prize-winning artist Kai Carpenter, create a detailed telling of the Savior’s birth and early life up to the start of his ministry.
