Focus on the Family and Pine Creek Entertainment revealed the trailer for their upcoming film Irreplaceable at the Vatican in late October. The sneak peak was offered during the Pilgrimage of Families, which drew 150,000 visitors to the Eternal City for Pope Francis’ first summit on families. The documentary, scheduled for a one-night theatrical release in spring 2014, follows one man’s journey to determine if traditional families are still relevant to our world. The documentary explores the importance of family with a diversity of experts who enlighten audiences on whether the concept of the traditional family is meaningful, or in fact outdated. Irreplaceable asks families of all faiths and backgrounds to consider questions like: “What is a family?”; “Is today’s family dynamic in trouble?”; “Are families relevant in today’s society?”; and “Is my family worth fighting for in an era where divorce is so prevalent?” Some of the notable experts and commentators featured in Irreplaceable include Michael Medved (radio host, author, political commentator and film critic), Eric Metaxas (New York Times best-selling author of Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy and 7 Men), Jonathan Last (author, What to Expect When No One's Expecting), and Dr. Miriam Grossman (author, Unprotected and You're Teaching My Child WHAT?). Tickets for the theatrical debut of Irreplaceable are set to go on sale in January, while producers are targeting the fall/winter 2014 window for the DVD release. |
