“Jesus has always been at the center of our ministry,” said Mark Hanlon, Compassion International’s senior vice president of global marketing and engagement. “His life story is the greatest story ever told. And this film tells it in a beautiful, captivating way.” Recognizing the role that Christian stores play in ministry, Compassion has given tickets to some retailers. Christ Centered Life Store in Fort Myers, Fla. is giving away hundreds of tickets in-store through March 1. An email blast sent by the store includes the Son of God trailer as well as movie times for the available tickets. Compassion and local Christian Television Network affiliate CTN-10 are listed as the tickets’ sponsors. Churches in 40 major cities, including Phoenix, Los Angeles, Chicago and Atlanta, also are using Compassion’s free tickets as an outreach opportunity. In addition, many churches and organizations have bought out theaters to give more people an opportunity to see the film during the opening weekend. Faith-based blogs such as
“A Story By Me” also have been given tickets to give away in the lead-up to
release weekend. A Feb. 26 post on the blog includes an embedded Son of God |
