Bob Hartman, author of Bob Hartman's Old Testament Tales and Bob Hartman's New Testament Tales (both Lion Children’s/Kregel Publications), is also the author of the stories in the popular Bible App for Kids, which has been downloaded more than 2 million times.

“Bob was the perfect fit for the Bible App for Kids project,” said Danielle Dykert, director of design for OneHope, the company that produced the app. “He is a true storyteller. His fresh voice brings the Bible to life, even before the addition of illustration and animation.”

Part of a children's Bible engagement project called “Bible Islands,” Bible App for Kids was created for LifeChurch, whose Bible app for all ages, YouVersion, has been downloaded more than 120 million times.

Bible App for Kids was released Thanksgiving Day 2013, and was downloaded 1 million times in the first week. Hartman also writes for YouVersion’s Bible App for Kids blog.
