Todd and Tara Storch’s Taylor’s Gift: A Courageous Story of Giving Life and Renewing Hope (Revell/Baker Publishing Group) won the Books for a Better Life Award in the Inspirational Memoir category. The Southern New York Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society announced the 18th annual awards March 10 at a New York City ceremony hosted by NBC media personality Meredith Vieira. Available in paperback next month, Taylor’s Gift shares the inspiring story of one family turning to organ donation for hope after the tragic death of their 13-year-old daughter, Taylor. Her gift saved the lives of five individuals waiting for an organ transplant. Since its inception in 1996, the Books for a Better Life Awards has recognized more than 700 self-improvement authors and raised more than $2.1 million for the New York City-Southern New York Chapter’s comprehensive support services and educational programs for people living with Multiple Sclerosis, their friends and families as well as the society’s critical research initiatives. The awards recognize self-improvement authors whose messages are aligned with the chapter’s mission of inspiring people to live their lives to the fullest. |
