Logos Bible Software has begun a partnership with Compassion International to help boost sponsorships of needy children. In an email sent by the software company, Logos offers a $100 gift certificate to anyone who sponsors a child before April 1. The email cites a University of San Francisco study that analyzed more than 10,000 people in six countries where Compassion works—Bolivia, Guatemala, India, Kenya, Uganda and the Philippines—and found the sponsorship program has had a significant impact. Compared to their unsponsored peers, sponsored children were 50%-80% more likely to complete a university education, 14%-18% more likely to have salaried employment as adults, 75% more likely to become community leaders, and 40%-70% more likely to become church leaders.
