Crossway has partnered with LifeWay and Together for the Gospel (T4G) to collect nearly 6,000 ESV Global Study Bibles for pastors and leaders in Liberia. T4G conference attendees were invited to purchase subsidized copies of the Global Study Bible in the English Standard Version (ESV) from the conference store and write personal notes to pack with them at Crossway’s booth. By the end of the April 8-10 conference in Louisville, Ky., donations amounted to seven full pallets of Bibles that will be shipped to Liberia in the coming months. "What a joy it was to be part of the Pack the Pallet initiative—meeting so many people who are passionate about sharing God's Word with the world!” said Crossway Senior Vice President of Bible Ministry Relations Randy Jahns. “Each Bible packed and each personal note written to our Liberian brothers was done with prayers that this will bear much fruit in the coming days.” Pastor Joseph Johnson of Monrovia will organize the distribution of the Bibles at four regional pastors’ gatherings throughout Liberia later this year. Johnson was in attendance at the conference to answer questions about how these Bibles will be used for Bible study and leadership training in Liberia. ”I so appreciated pastor Johnson and his thoughtful plan for using these Bibles to equip and train Liberian pastors and church leaders,” Jahns said. “Many of these leaders do not have even basic Bible resources, so we pray that these Global Study Bibles will help advance and strengthen the church throughout Liberia, for God's glory alone." |
