Retail and marketing services provider The Parable Group and missions organization CLC USA have announced a republishing venture to bring Parable’s former best-seller Books That Change Lives to an expanded global readership. Initially published in 2005, Books That Change Lives sold 26,000 units exclusively through Parable Group’s partner stores. Described as recommended reading lists for Christian readers, the best-seller features books chosen by Christian authors, Christian retailers and members of The Parable Group for their depth of wisdom and power to transform hearts. The revised and updated edition will release Aug. 5 and features an updated personal-growth library list, revised pastor-recommended reading lists, refreshed topical-resource list and new quotes from noted authors, including Tony Evans, Deanne Gist, Joel Rosenberg, Kyle Idleman, Paul Miller and Karen Kingsbury. Books That Change Lives also will be made available as an e-book for the first time. “Next to the Bible, Books That Change Lives may prove to be one of most important resources for us as Christian retailers,” said David Almack, national director and publisher of CLC USA. “We have used the original version of Books That Change Lives for all team member training in the USA for years. We intend to distribute Books That Change Lives globally to over 50 countries where we work and inspire readers who are spiritually hungry to find their own vibrant relationship with God.” Steve Potratz, president of The Parable Group, added: “We attribute our partnership with CLC USA to something much bigger than ourselves. God has entrusted us with this great resource for Christian maturity, and we are humbled by the global reach and impact.” |
