Three of late author Diann Hunt’s friends are celebrating her work in light of Hallmark’s movie adaption of Hunt’s For Better or For Worse (Thomas Nelson, 2008). “The four of us—Kristin Billerbeck, Colleen Coble, Denise Hunter and Diann Hunt—often talked about what we would do if one of us ever landed a movie deal,” Coble said. “We would definitely attend the premiere together! We dreamed of limos, red carpets and cameras flashing.” Hunt, 58, lost her battle with ovarian cancer in Nov. 29, 2013, but her last request was for friends to celebrate with her family the evening the movie aired, so her author friends have invited the public to a Red Carpet premiere July 19 at 7:30 p.m. at Hunt’s church, Grace Point Church of the Nazarene in Fort Wayne, Indiana. “Since Hallmark is not having a premiere, we’re honoring our promise to Diann by having one of our own,” Hunter said. “She was so excited Hallmark picked up For Better or For Worse.” In keeping with the theme of the book and movie, wedding refreshments will be served at the premiere. Door prizes also will be given away. Tickets are free and are available through the church or online at Windows, Doors & More. Donations will benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. |
