Former Florida State University head football coach Bobby Bowden will sign his new book The Wisdom of Faith at several Florida bookstores after making media rounds in New York City to support the new book. The Wisdom of Faith was written with his son, Steve Bowden, and releases Sept. 1 from B&H Publishing Group. Bowden, the coach with the most wins in NCAA Division I football history, will be in Florida for multiple book signings the week of Sept. 1, 2014. Stops include Orlando’s LifeWay Christian Store on Sept. 3, Family Christian Store in Pensacola on Sept. 4, Barnes and Noble Tallahassee Mall location on Sept. 5, and the Seminole Sportshop on the Florida State campus in Tallahassee on Sept. 6. The Wisdom of Faith opens with a letter from Bowden to his family after the loss of his grandson and former son-in-law in a tragic car accident in the aftermath of Hurricane Frances in 2004. Following the letter, Bowden includes chapters on fear, trust, courage, responsibility, humility, patience, discipline, contentment, suffering and love. Bowden lost a second grandson in a single-car accident last December. “Coach Bowden gives us insight into the role his strong faith in God has played in his life,” said Sylvester Croom, NFL’s Tennessee Titans running backs coach. “He continues to coach as he reveals his game plan for victorious living.” Before the scheduled signings, Bowden heads to New York for a media tour, including interviews on FOX News Channel’s FOX & Friends, FOX News Radio’s Kilmeade & Friends, NFL Network, SI Now (Sports Illustrated's live 30-minute daily talk show), and SiriusXM College Sports Nation. The media tour will also include a full day of interviews at ESPN on Aug. 28, including Mike & Mike and First Take, among several other television and radio interviews. A radio tour on Aug. 29 will include interviews with The Tim Brando Show, The Doug Gottlieb Show (CBS Sports Network), and multiple local sports radio-talk shows in markets including Miami; Tallahassee, Fla.; Detroit; Atlanta and Charlotte, N.C. During his 34-year tenure at FSU, Bowden led the Seminoles football team to more than 300 victories, two national championships, 12 Atlantic Coast Conference titles, and bowl games in 28 consecutive seasons. Bowden remains involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, annually awarding The National Bobby Bowden Award to a student-athlete for achievement on and off the field, including his conduct as a faith model in the community. Bowden was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2006. He and his wife of 65 years, Ann, live in Tallahassee, Fla.
