Gospel Music Association (GMA) Canada has announced the nominees for the 36th Annual Covenant Awards. Singer/songwriter Dan Bremnes (Capitol Christian Music Group/Capitol Christian Distribution) has been nominated for Artist and Male Vocalist of the Year, as well as for Song of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Song of the year for “Beautiful.” The awards will be presented in Vancouver, Canada, on Nov. 13. A native of British Columbia, Bremnes said the nominations were “completely unexpected,” adding, “I'm very grateful to be recognized alongside such a talented group of artists!” On Nov. 12, Bremnes will speak at the Artist Summit where he will share his insights about leading worship and songwriting as well as touring. He also will lead worship, joining Jon Neufeld and Amanda Cook at the Night of Worship service. During the awards ceremony the following evening, Bremnes is slated as one of the evening's performers and will share his hit single nominated for Song of the Year. Bremnes has toured extensively throughout Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Most recently he supported Steven Curtis Chapman on the six-date Canadian The Glorious Unfolding Tour. Bremnes will be joining labelmate Josh Wilson on tour this fall in the U.S. “Beautiful” was produced by David Garcia (TobyMac, Colton Dixon) and Ben Glover (MercyMe, For King & Country) is on the top 15 National Christian Audience and top 10 AC Indicator charts.
