Kregel Publications announced late last week that it will add an imprint for books published in partnership with Ratio Christi Student Apologetics Alliance. “This agreement came about when Kregel was working with Tom Gilson, Ratio Christi’s national field director, on the book True Reason: Confronting the Irrationality of the New Atheism,” said Dennis Hillman, publisher at Kregel. “In our talks about what Gilson does at Ratio Christi, I realized how much that organization is doing to help Christian students express, explain and support their faith on college campuses amidst immense secular influence and an antagonistic attitude toward biblical faith. Ratio Christi teaches Christian apologetics—the historic, scientific and philosophical reasons for following Christ. They are making an impact in reaching people for Christ, and that is part of our mission statement as an evangelical Christian publisher.” Kregel and Ratio Christi will work together to publish books related to the uses and teachings of Christian apologetics and books on topics that can be addressed through apologetics, such as today’s cultural issues and misconceptions about Christianity. There will be trade and academic books published in print and for Kindle as well as other e-books. Distribution will be handled through Kregel’s channels. The first book under Kregel’s Ratio Christi imprint, Michael C. Sherrard’s Relational Apologetics, is scheduled to release in June 2015. Sherrard is the director of Ratio Christi’s college prep division. “For an organization that is less than four years old, Ratio Christi is becoming known as an organization that endorses good speakers, books and other apologetics material,” said Rick Schenker, president and CEO of Ratio Christi. “Kregel is well-established as a trusted publisher for over 60 years. This relationship adds tremendous value to Ratio Christi as a name that can be trusted.” |
