Thom S. Rainer’s I Am a Church Member (B&H Books) continues to top the CBA best-sellers list more than a year after the book’s release. His follow-up book, also from B&H, Autopsy of a Deceased Church, has made a strong impact as well since its release this summer, reaching as high as No. 2 on the CBA Top 50. I Am a Church Member was recognized as Best of the Best in The Leader’s Outer Life category for Leadership Journal’s 2013 book awards. Both books were based on popular blogs written by the author at ThomRainer.com. “I am humbled by how these books have been used to bear fruit in the church,” Rainer said. “These messages were developed by listening to and engaging with pastors and church members from around the country and through many years in ministry. It’s my prayer that they will continue to bear fruit in the form of biblically healthy, self- reproducing churches for generations to come.” Churches across the nation have embraced the books as key resources. Houston’s First Baptist Church shared on Twitter that the church purchased 6,000 copies of Church Member to give to members of the congregation. B&H Publishing Group will publish Rainer’s I Will: Nine Traits of an Outwardly Focused Christian next July. The book will equip readers with nine traits that all church members can incorporate into their lives to meet the needs around them. |
