Three best-selling titles received ECPA's coveted Diamond Award at the ECPA Awards banquet held the evening of May 5. Sarah Young's runaway success Jesus Calling (Thomas Nelson), Gary Chapman's seminal The Five Love Languages (Moody Publishing), and Todd Burpo's hit Heaven is for Real (Thomas Nelson) were honored for selling in excess of 10 million copies each. Another key honor from the evening was the Jordon Lifetime Achievement Award, presented to Dr. Lane T. and Mrs. Ebeth Dennis. ECPA President/CEO Mark Kuyper honored the couple for "their remarkable contributions to Christian publishing" and "in recognition of a lifetime of service to Christ and excellence in gospel ministry." Lane T. Dennis is the President and CEO of Crossway, while his wife, Ebeth, serves on the company's board of directors as well as being the senior vice president over the publishing ministry. “For 50 years, Lane and Ebeth have led Crossway in the proclamation of the gospel and the truth of God’s Word through the publication and distribution of millions of Bibles, gospel-centered books, tracts, and other resources," said Kuyper while presenting the award. "Their years of dedicated service have impacted countless lives for the sake of the gospel, delivering to current and later generations the great treasure of God’s Word through the English Standard Version of the Bible, as well as writings from some of the foremost voices of classic evangelicalism." Other key sales awards presented presented at the ceremony include six Platinum Awards (for 1 million copies sold) and 11 Gold Awards (for 500,000 copies sold). The Holman Rainbow Study Bible, KJV (Holman Bible Publishers), reached triple-Platinum status for selling more than 3 million copies. |
