Dicksons Inc., a major supplier of Christian and inspirational gifts based in Seymour, Indiana, has announced the mid-June retirement of Dave McNabb, vice president of product development, after more than 37 years with the company. McNabb started with the company in 1978 as its first product development manager, recalling that his first new product line consisted of about 30 items, introduced to a team of four sales representatives. He helped to implement a great deal of growth for the company through the years, and last year he and his staff of six developed a diverse array of over 2,000 new products promoted by a large team of representatives to the CBA and general gift markets. “I am very fortunate to have worked with such a great company made up of so many people who are a pleasure to work with and in an industry that works to bring glory to God," McNabb said. "In my travels all over the United States and in Southeast Asia, I have worked and made friends with so many people (whom) I respect and will miss tremendously. The work has been both fun and challenging at the same time, but it’s the people that I will miss the most.” Assuming the position upon McNabb's retirement is Stephanie Flinn, who has been with Dicksons since 1998, beginning as a customer service representative. She later moved into sales, specializing in key accounts, and in 2009 was promoted to director of marketing. “During her 16-year tenure with the company, Stephanie has developed a strong knowledge of the Christian gift industry, and an outstanding eye for Christian gift product trends," said Dicksons President Steve Vandivier. "In her new role, she will help the company with our overall strategic planning, and will lead our product development and marketing teams to position us for future growth.” |
