Baker Publishing Group has signed an agreement with the Messianic Jewish Family Bible Society to publish a new translation of the Bible, the Tree of Life Version (TLV), scheduled to release in 2016. The TLV is translated by a committee of 32 Messianic Jewish and Christian scholars and uses a seven-step vetting process. An official translation of The King’s University, the TLV captures the original Hebrew and Greek text and includes Hebrew transliterations throughout the text. It highlights the roots of the Christian faith and restores the Jewish order of the Old Testament books. The result is the first full-text and reference edition of this distinctive translation. The partnership between Baker and the Bible society will be announced at the Messiah Conference, which runs June 28–July 4 in Grantham, Pennsylvania. Baker Publishing Group will also publish an e-book edition to celebrate the inaugural Tree of Life Version Theology Summit and Bible Conference in Dallas, Aug. 6–7 in Dallas. “Our whole university family applauds the new publishing partnership between Baker Publishing Group and the Messianic Jewish Family Bible Society to bring the Tree of Life Version (TLV) to market this time next year,” said Dr. Jack Hayford, chancellor of The King’s University. “Amid global challenges, this historic event resounds the commitment to unity between Christian and Messianic Jewish scholars who, together in this generation, are bringing Romans 3:2 to a new fullness of joy.” “Baker Publishing Group is pleased to represent the Tree of Life Version to the Bible retail community and to help raise awareness of the Jewish context of our Christian church,” said Dwight Baker, president of the Michigan-based publishing company. |
