Members of the Association of Logos Bookstores have nominated and selected Books of the Year winners, along with naming its Vendor, Distributor and Author of the Year whose works exemplify the power of books to change lives forever. Additionally, 29 outstanding field and inside reps, nominated by store managers, were honored for their service to the stores. Logos retailers named the following as Books of the Year: The Good Shepherd, Kenneth E. Bailey, InterVarsity Press (Theology, Doctrine, Reference); Teach Us to Want by Jen Pollock Michel, InterVarsity Press (Spirituality, Devotional); Vanishing Grace by Philip Yancey, Zondervan (Christian Living); Renaissance by Os Guinness, InterVarsity Press (Christianity and Culture); The Fatal Tree by Stephen R. Lawhead, Thomas Nelson (Fiction); You Have a Brain by Ben Carson, M.D., Zondervan (Youth); and My Bible Animals Storybook by Dandi Daley Mackall, Tyndale House Publishers (Children's Picture Books). Philip Yancey and Phyllis Tickle each were named Author of the Year. The Vendors of the Year were Thomas Nelson and Zondervan, and the Distributors of the Year were Anchor Distributors and Spring Arbor. Becky Gorczyca, the association's executive director, presented the awards at the International Christian Retail Show in Orlando, Florida. "We consider it a privilege each year to acknowledge, encourage and thank these other participants in our shared mission in Christian retailing," Gorczyca said. |
