The Hillsong United movie, Let Hope Rise, has been indefinitely postponed from its Sept. 30 theatrical release date according to Variety. Distributor Relativity Media, which acquired the project in March, had to drop it when Relativity filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy July 30. Relativity transferred the rights for Let Hope Rise before it filed for bankruptcy, in order to prevent the movie from being caught in legal trouble. According to Breathecast, the film rights now belong to producers Jonathan Bock, Matthew Weaver and Ben Field. The Hillsong documentary was delayed earlier in the year when its original distributor, Warner Bros., was unable to negotiate rights for the film. The film was dropped only one month before its initial Easter release date. Relativity Media acquired it shortly thereafter. Let Hope Rise is a coproduction between Cantinas Entertainment, Grace Hill Media and MediaWeaver Entertainment. It is unclear how much of the film has been completed or if it will find a new distributor soon. |
