90 Minutes in Heaven, the motion picture debut from Giving Films, the movie production company of Family Christian Ministries, made more than $2.1 million on 878 screens during its opening weekend. Distributed by Samuel Goldwyn Films, the adaptation of Don Piper’s best-selling book (Revell/Baker Publishing Group) was the ninth-highest grossing film domestically, topping The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and Ant-Man. TriStar’s War Room was unseated from the top spot by two new releases—The Perfect Guy and The Visit—but still made a healthy $7.4 million during the weekend.
