Presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson will be signing his new book, A More Perfect Union (Sentinel/Penguin Group), at Mardel stores in Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas. Carson will visit stores in Edmond, Oklahoma, at 11 a.m., Oct. 21; Springfield, Missouri, at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 22; and Overland Park, Kansas, at 11 a.m., Oct. 23. Carson was raised by a poor single mother in Detroit and recently retired as the director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. A former member on the President’s Council on Bioethics, he is the recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the country. In addition, Carson is a Washington Times columnist and FOX News contributor. He is also the author of six previous books, including the New York Times best-sellers Gifted Hands and A More Perfect Union, coauthored with his wife, Candy Carson.
