Worthy Publishing Group and Museum of the Bible have teamed up to form a new book-publishing imprint, Museum of the Bible Books. The partnership will allow the Washington, D.C.-based Museum of the Bible to encourage Scripture engagement for people of all ages. Cary Summers, president of Museum of the Bible, gave the expected timetable. “First titles are slated to release in fall of 2016, with additional adult and children’s books published to coincide with the museum’s opening in November 2017,” Summers said. Byron Williamson, Worthy Publishing president and CEO, commented on the new partnership. “Museum of the Bible has assembled a remarkable team of architects, designers, scholars and curators to create a historic venue that will engage all who desire to know more about the Bible,” Williamson said. “The museum’s publishing program will enable people of all ages from around the globe to discover the Bible’s impact on science, art, government, faith, fashion, music and many other aspects of culture.” The eight-story, 430,000-square-foot Museum of the Bible will open in November 2017 just three blocks from the U.S. Capitol. The museum will provide an immersive experience through creative technology as well as historical texts and artifacts, such as Dead Sea Scroll fragments, biblical papyri, manuscripts, Torah scrolls, rare printed Bibles and other highlights from its collection and partners from around the world. “The Museum of the Bible Books imprint is another step toward creating experiences that extend beyond the walls of the museum in D.C.,” Summers said. “People of all ages and faith traditions from all parts of the world can look forward to having relevant and engaging content to read and reference as they learn about the Bible.” |
