Edward Nizynski, vice president of sales at Lighthouse, commented on the increasing demand for Spanish products. “Our (company’s) sales on just Spanish products has been growing double digits for several years now,” Nizynski said. “At ICRS (International Christian Retail Show), we continue to sign up new Spanish accounts inside and outside the USA. We continue to be asked by our Spanish distributors, like Luciano’s and Pura Vida, to expand our offerings. Retailers tell us that if they don’t carry some Spanish items that they would receive letters from consumers.” Lighthouse’s expanded line includes desktop and bar plaques, “Moments of Faith” sculptures, coffee mugs and photo frames. Isel Villaverde, manager of Betsaida Christian Book Store in Union City, New Jersey, said that Lighthouse’s Spanish offerings have been a blessing to her business. “In the area that I’m in, we are surrounded by Spanish churches,” said Villaverde. “Eighty percent of my customers are Spanish-speaking. I have a lot of English (gifts), but they’re always looking for Spanish (gifts) because they’re Spanish churches. … Lighthouse has been a blessing because they make products with Scriptures in Spanish. They sell very well.” |
