John Burke’s Imagine Heaven (Baker Books/Baker Publishing Group) has debuted on the New York Times best-sellers list, taking the No. 9 spot for Advice, How-To and Miscellaneous. This ranking reflects sales for the week ending Oct. 31. In the book, Burke explores the commonalities between more than 100 near-death experiences and how they align with glimpses of heaven in the Scriptures. Dwight Baker, president and CEO of Baker Publishing Group, commented on the book’s achievement. “John Burke is giving us a fresh picture of heaven, and readers are responding,” Baker said. “Sales have exceeded expectations, proving again our lifelong curiosity and hunger for the future that awaits us.” Burke and his wife, Kathy, founded Gateway Church in Austin, Texas. He also has taught more than 200,000 people in 20 countries. |
