Family Christian announces new CMO |

Family Christian, a nonprofit ministry and the nation’s largest Christian retail chain, announced Wednesday that Curt Andrews will become the company’s new chief marketing officer, effective Nov. 30. Andrews comes to Family Christian with more than 35 years of successful business and marketing leadership experience with a variety of well-known, global consumer and retail brands. Andrews’ career includes positions with Musicland, Paul Harris Stores, Blockbuster and EZCorp. Andrews’ background also includes agency leadership, where he consulted for numerous companies, including Red Mango, TGI Friday’s and Frito Lay. Since 2012, Andrews has served as a board member for Feed the Hunger, a domestic and international nonprofit ministry based in Burlington, North Carolina, providing food and meeting the physical and spiritual needs of children and orphans throughout the world. Chuck Bengochea, president and CEO of Family Christian, praised Curt’s qualifications. “Family Christian is launching new, key initiatives to create compelling shopping experiences and better engage our customers. We believe that Curt is the ideal choice to lead our marketing,” said Bengochea. “Curt has an incredible background with great marketing and retail experience. He is a knowledgeable and passionate leader who knows how to motivate a team to achieve results. His personal mission aligns with the heart of Family Christian, and his business experience will facilitate the long-term success of this incredible retail ministry.” Bengochea continued, “We are blessed to introduce Curt as our incoming chief marketing officer. He has the retail experience and ministry heart we need to build our brand and tell the great story of our impact around the world on behalf of the oppressed.
