Steven Curtis Chapman will release his first worship album, Worship and Believe, March 4, 2016 (Essential Worship). Worship and Believe is Chapman's 23rd career studio album and was co-produced by Chapman and Brent Milligan. Chapman co-wrote the album with Matt Maher, Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin and members of Rend Collective. While Worship and Believe will be available at physical retail and online outlets, the album is being cross-promoted by Zondervan as a worship companion product to the Believe curriculum, which is being used by thousands of churches across the country. Chapman commented on his inspiration for the album. "I always loved singing worship songs, and people responded when I’d sing them during shows,” he said. “They were what I held onto so tightly when we lost our daughter Maria, but the timing was never right for me to make a full record of them.” The physical edition of the album will have 11 studio songs and four live-recorded songs, while the digital deluxe edition will include two additional live-recorded songs. Chapman recently kicked off his Joy: The Christmas Tour. In February 2016, he will co-headline a multi-city tour with Amy Grant, followed by a tour with Third Day. This past fall Chapman participated in the Experience Conference held in Orlando, and he is scheduled to participate in additional worship conferences next year. |
