Sarah Young’s Jesus Calling (Thomas Nelson) and Joel Osteen’s The Power of I Am (FaithWords) placed at No. 3 and No. 5, respectively, on Christian Retailing’s exclusive Nielsen BookScan list reflecting December sales. The top spots, however, belonged to general-market Christmas titles. Besides Young, Osteen and Priscilla Shirer's Fervent (B&H Books), all of the top 15 books were Christmas-themed. Alice Schertle’s Little Blue Truck’s Christmas and Chris Van Allsburg’s The Polar Express: 30th Anniversary Edition (both Houghton Mifflin Harcourt) topped the list, while Jean Reagan’s How to Catch Santa (Alfred A. Knopf) placed at No. 4. These holiday-centric general market titles received a sales boost given the Christmas season. The list reflects sales from a wide range of retail outlets, including independent Christian retailers, Family Christian Stores, Walmart and Amazon. The list's top 100 are posted here. |
