Pure Flix Entertainment, the largest independent faith film studio, and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment (UPHE) have announced a multi-year distribution services agreement. Under the arrangement, UPHE will exclusively handle sales and distribution services for the Blu-ray, DVD, Electronic Sell-through and Video-on-Demand platforms of Pure Flix new-release films and for its diverse catalog of titles across the U.S. Pure Flix will oversee consumer marketing to support UPHE and will continue to manage sales, marketing and distribution for the CBA market. The agreement will begin with the home entertainment release of Woodlawn, starring Sean Astin, Sherry Shepherd, Nic Bishop, C. Thomas Howell, Caleb Castille and Academy Award winner Jon Voight. Woodlawn is available today on Blu-ray, DVD, Digital HD and On Demand. Also on deck in 2016 is God's Not Dead 2, starring Melissa Joan Hart, Jesse Metcalfe, David A.R. White, Sadie Roberts, Robin Givens and Fred Thompson with special appearances by Pat Boone, Gov. Mike Huckabee and Newsboys. "We originally launched Pure Flix to connect relevant and entertaining Christ-centered storytelling with faith-based moviegoers,” says Scott. "As our movies have found success, we’ve been blessed with a growing audience. There is simply no better partner to help us serve the full potential of Pure Flix than Universal Pictures Home Entertainment." “Pure Flix is the premier leader in faith-based entertainment as evidenced by its decade-long success in the category,” added Morici. “Combining Universal’s world-class home entertainment distribution operation with Pure Flix’s robust catalog and ever-growing pipeline of high quality, specialty fare perfectly positions us for success in this well-defined market.” |
