The Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) is partnering with Integrity Music and David C Cook to build awareness of the plight of persecuted Christians. The organizations have teamed up to release a new i am n album Feb. 12 and i am n book and curriculum March 1. The “i am n” movement takes its name from the symbol used by Islamic State (ISIS) militants to target believers. Proceeds from the sale of all i am n related products will be used by VOM to support persecuted Iraqi and Syrian Christians, including those fleeing Syria as refugees. The movement has already generated over $5 million in aid. Integrity Music worked with VOM to develop a soundtrack for the movement, featuring music from All Sons & Daughters, The Brilliance, Lincoln Brewster, Paul Baloche, Travis Ryan, New Life Worship, WorshipMob, NCC Worship, Desperation Band, Greg Sykes, Israel and New Breed and Rend Collective. The 12-track i am n album includes “We Stand As One,” a song performed by Sykes and written especially for the album. David C Cook is releasing the book i am n: Inspiring Stories of Christians Facing Islamic Extremists in addition to a 90-day companion devotional and related curriculum. The book shares real-life stories of Christians holding onto their faith in the midst of violence, fear and death. Churches and universities are also partnering with VOM to host “Exile Nights,” events for students that simulate what refugees might experience when forced to leave their homes. The first Exile Night will be hosted by Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and will include worship with All Sons & Daughters. Next month, VOM will also partner with Christian stores to launch the “Family Med Pack” initiative, which will provide a practical way for Christians to help refugees and their families. Empty Family Med Packs with a list of family medical needs will be available for pickup at CBA market retailers. Participants are asked to fill the pack with the needed items and ship it to VOM, who will forward the supplies to refugee families overseas. |
