Shauna Niequist’s first devotional with Zondervan Gift, a division of HarperCollins Christian Publishing, Savor: Living Abundantly Where You Are, As You Are, has sold more than 100,000 copies since its release March 10, 2015. A follow-up to her trade books Bread & Wine, Cold Tangerines and Bittersweet, Savor was an immediate hit with Niequist’s loyal readers and followers on social media. Influencer copies to her friends in the entertainment and publishing world yielded endorsements from Ann Voskamp, Natalie Grant, Donald Miller, Beth Moore, Jen Hatmaker, Rachel Held Evans and others. Laura Minchew, senior vice president and publisher for gift books, children’s books and new media at Thomas Nelson, commented on the milestone. “To surpass 100,000 units in sales less than a year from release is remarkable,” Minchew said. “It is a testament to the powerful relationship Shauna has nurtured with her readers through her own vulnerability and passion to live abundantly where you are, as you are. We are grateful for Shauna’s very hard work to get the word out about the book and are thrilled that people have embraced this message in a devotional format.” Throughout the book's promotional campaign, Niequist appeared on American and Canadian television programs, the book was reviewed in Christian and secular print media, and she was interviewed on local and national radio stations. Many faith-focused and lifestyle blogs also reviewed the devotional and offered giveaways. Zondervan will release her next book, Present Over Perfect, on Aug. 9. |
