Industry distributor and manufacturer Swanson Christian Products has been awarded an Environment Impact Certificate for its use of recycled corrugated packaging materials. John McKinney, vice president for Swanson, was pleased with the honor. "Swanson is excited and proud to be participating with Pratt Industries in the utilization of recycled shipping/packing materials.” Swanson has been working with the corrugated division of Pratt Industries in Humboldt, Tennessee. Pratt is America’s fifth-largest corrugated packaging company and the world’s largest, privately-held, 100-percent-recycled paper and packaging company. The issuance of the Environment Impact Certificate recognizes Swanson as purchasing two tons of 100-percent-recycled corrugated packaging in 2015, which has saved numerous trees, reduced landfills, reduced water usage by 14,000 gallons, reduced energy usage by 8,000 KWH and eliminated two tons of carbon dioxide emissions. "I think it is important that are customers know that Swanson has taken this step to help our environment,” McKinney said. |
