Harrison House President and CEO Troy Wormell and his wife, Joyce Wormell, announced in April the acquisition of 15 Family Christian Stores location. The new chain of Christian retail stores has the working name of Empowered Life Christian Books & Gifts. The stores are in well-established locations in states across the U.S., including New Jersey, Arizona, Illinois and Florida. The headquarters, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, will serve as the stores’ distribution center. Nearly every location will continue under the same management. Several of the managers have been in their locations for more than 20 years and have fostered a sense of community. Troy believes the managers and their teams will be key to the success of the new chain. The Wormells have been involved in the Christian products industry for 25 years, starting in 1992 with a commercial printing company that produced books for Christian authors, they acquired Harrison House in 2009, making it their sole endeavor in 2013. As the industry has changed, they felt it was time to explore new ventures and are excited to serve Christian readers and suppliers in a different way. Through this endeavor, they hope to increase the availability of Christian books and products while maintaining brick-and-mortar bookstores for the Christian community. |
