The Association of Logos Bookstores held its annual retail conference prior to CPE International in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Becky Gorczyca, executive director, said that, as they do every year, Logos retailers honored sales reps in the industry as well as significant books. “The Logos managers nominate the books they think are the best of the year,” she told Christian Retailing. “We compile a list and then a ballot goes out, and the winners are chosen from that. So all the stores have input. “We want to encourage publishers to write thoughtful, life-changing books, and there are lots of them. These are some of our favorites.” The 2019 book awards went to: Loved by Sally Lloyd-Jones, Zonderkidz (Children’s Picture Books); Teach Us to Pray by Gordon T. Smith, IVP (Christian Living); Last Call for Liberty by Os Guinness, IVP (Christianity/Culture); Life Without Lack by Dallas WIllard, Thomas Nelson (Spirituality/Devotional); What If It’s True? by Charles Martin, Thomas Nelson (Theology/Doctrine/Reference); and Becoming Mrs. Lewis by Patti Callahan, Thomas Nelson (Fiction). Gorczyca presented the awards to the publishers at their exhibits on the CPE show floor. |
