Christian retail industry veteran Tessie DeVore has been named executive vice president of the book group for Strang Communications. In this role, DeVore will work closely with executive management, including Strang Communications' founder and CEO, Stephen Strang, to provide leadership, to head day-to-day operations of the book group and to meet divisional objectives. As executive vice president, DeVore, who has been with Strang for more than 12 years, will spearhead new projects for Strang Communications' book imprints, which include Charisma House, Creation House, FrontLine, Realms, Siloam, Casa Creación, Publicaciones Casa and CharismaKids. DeVore was formerly vice president of Strang Communications' international group. Her primary responsibilities included overseeing Casa Creación, Strang's Spanish book imprint; Vida Cristiana, a magazine for Spanish-speaking Christians; and all English-language international endeavors. “We're excited Tessie is heading up our book group at Strang Communications. She brings creativity, excitement and a successful career in publishing,” said Stephen Strang, president and CEO. “Her knowledge of and respect in both the English and Spanish evangelical communities will add a great deal to our book division as it moves to a new level in the future.” DeVore was honored in 2002 by Event Concepts and PR Newswire as one of the top 100 Hispanic journalists and media personalities in the United States. She also is the first woman to serve as president of the Spanish Evangelical Products Association. “This is a great responsibility and a challenge that I don't take lightly. In the last three years, the Strang book group has grown almost 32%,” DeVore said. “However, I'm certain that this is just the start of greater expansion and growth.” DeVore previously served as advertising and public relations manager for four years at Vida Publishers. Strang Communications also publishes Christian Retailing. |
