Grizzly Adams Productions Inc. (GAP) announced it has united with Bethany House Publishers and Cook Communications to provide free curricula for the church and Christian broadcasting markets that will help churches address The Da Vinci Code movie, scheduled for box-office release on May 19. “The release of The Da Vinci Code movie gives the church a spectacular opportunity that is incredibly rare,” said Jim Garlow, author of Cracking Da Vinci's Code (Cook Communications) and The Da Vinci Codebreaker (Bethany House). Confronting the movie's issues “can be a very difficult time for the church, or a wonderful opportunity for those who are prepared for inquiries,” he said. GAP, in cooperation with Garlow and his publishers, is offering its one-week church-wide curriculum including pastor's sermon outline, and listener's notes, which come as a bonus feature with The Da Vinci Code Deception DVD. A four-week The Da Vinci Code Bible study developed by Garlow, a pastor, also is available to download free at www.jimgarlow.com. GAP's The Da Vinci Code Deception DVD is based on three best-selling Christian books: The Da Vinci Deception by Edwin Lutzer (Tyndale House), Breaking the Da Vinci Code by Dr. Darrell Bock (Thomas Nelson), and Cracking Da Vinci's Code by Garlow (Cook Communications). “Too many Christians have taken The Da Vinci Code as truth, when that is not the case,” said Chuck Sellier, president of GAP. “The curriculum we're offering as a bonus, based in part on Dr. Garlow's book, exposes the inaccuracies and dispels the myths found in Dan Brown's book that mislead believers and non-believers alike.” The one-week curriculum that comes with GAP's The Da Vinci Code Deception DVD features a pastor's sermon outline, listener's notes and a 30-page Leaders Guide for preteen, high school and adult audiences.
