Broadman & Holman Publishers (B&H) announced it will release John and Danita Thomas' previously self-published “Kid Concoctions” book series to the Christian and mainstream retail markets. The former Cleveland Sunday school teachers have sold more than 4 million “Kid Concoctions” books with limited retail presence.

B&H will repackage the four original “Kid Concoctions” titles, The Ultimate Book of Kid Concoctions, The Ultimate Book of Kid Concoctions 2, The Ultimate Book of Holiday Kid Concoctions and Kid Concoctions and Contraptions. Plans also are in the works for a new inspirational-themed title, Kid Concoctions of Biblical Proportions, to be released in spring 2007.

Developed originally for hands-on Sunday school lessons, “Kid Concoctions” has grown into a successful arts-and-crafts brand based on the concept of using household goods to create children's toys with limited cost.

A number of licensing agreements are already in place with RoseArt, Darice craft supplies, Time-Life (DVDs), Kellogg's (on specially marked boxes of Fruit Loops cereal) and Chick-fil-A restaurants (CD-ROM kid's meal toy). The Thomases will be promoting “Kid Concoctions” at the International Christian Retail Show in Denver this summer.
