Berean Christian Stores has announced the purchase of The Living Water Christian Bookstore in Kokomo, Ind., which has been in business for more than 30 years.

Founder Wayne Pence, who has served on several CBA industry committees, opened the store in 1974 and expanded it in 1996 to 10,000 square feet. Pence noted that "the ministry we have begun will be in good hands, and continue to grow and strengthen with Berean Christian Stores."

Berean President Les Dietzman said that "we are thankful to know we have such a strong foundation on which to build and to have many of the associates of The Living Water continuing to serve their customers in the future."

Currently working in Berean's Louisville, Ky., store, Len Fisk will manage The Living Water Christian Bookstore, company officials said. With the purchase, Berean now has 24 stores, with three locations in Indiana.
