Ingram Book Group (IBG) has announced the hiring of David "Skip" Prichard as the company's chief operating officer. Jim Chandler, president and CEO of IBG, said Prichard, the former president and CEO of ProQuest Information and Learning, “brings to Ingram a great wealth of experience and a solid record as a team-builder with a strong track record.” As chief operating officer, which is a new IBG position, Prichard will be responsible for overseeing finance, information technology and operations. He will also be heavily involved in the development of new strategic directions, IBG officials said. At ProQuest, a global business with more than 1,200 employees, Prichard was credited with helping the company launch 23 new products and return to profitability.
