Promenade Pictures will release the 3-D computer-generated animation film The Ten Commandments in theaters nationwide Oct. 26, company officials said. The first feature film in Promenade's "Epic Stories of the Bible" franchise, The Ten Commandments is directed by Bill Boyce ("Hermie & Friends") and John Stronach (Ben Hur, Cahoots), and features the voice talent of Ben Kingsley (narrator), Christian Slater (Moses), Alfred Molina (Ramses) and Elliott Gould (God's voice). "We are thrilled to finally bring The Ten Commandments to life in an epic way the entire family can enjoy together," said Cindy Bond, president and chief operating officer of Promenade. "We are also happy that our marketing campaign will not only be entertaining, but also educational about the Ten Commandments." Promenade is currently in pre-production on its second film, with Noah's Ark: The New Beginning scheduled for release in 2008. "Not since my years working with Walt Disney have I been so happy to bring motion pictures to families," said Frank Yablans, chairman and CEO of Promenade who was a former president of Paramount and ex-CEO of MGM/United Artists Pictures. "I truly feel that we are helping accomplish God's work in bringing stories to film that will make a difference in the lives of people." |
