Myron Detweiler has been named vice president of merchandising of Berean Christian Stores, company officials said. In this role, Detweiler, who most recently served as trade sales manager with Gospel Light, will be responsible for the merchandising strategy for the Berean chain.

Bill Simmons, president and chief operating officer of Berean Christian Stores, said Detweiler's "strong retail, buying, product development, and curriculum and publishing experience will be a tremendous asset to us."

Based in West Chester, Ohio, Berean Christian Stores has 24 locations in seven states.
