Howard Books' parent company Simon & Schuster (S&S) has made the evangelical imprint part of its Touchstone/Fireside group, effective immediately, according to an internal memo from S&S President Carolyn Reidy. Reidy said the move would allow for "a closer, day-to-day working relationship" with S&S publishing and marketing staff. John Howard will remain the executive vice president and publisher of Howard Books and will now report to Mark Gompertz, executive vice president and publisher of Touchstone/ Fireside. Howard will remain in West Monroe, La. New York City-based S&S acquired Howard Publishing in February 2006 and changed its name to Howard Books. Howard's fall titles, to be published in the new "Touchstone Faith" line, include Life's Healing Choices by John Baker with a foreword by Rick Warren and The Secret Things of God by Henry Cloud. |
