VeggieTales co-creator Phil Vischer has been selected as the ninth recipient of the Robert A. Briner Impact Award, Assist News Service (ANS) reported. Created in 2003 by MJM Entertainment Group founder and writer/producer Mark Joseph and Biola University's Torrey Honors Institute Director John Mark Reynolds, the award honors artists who have embodied the ideals of the late media executive and author Robert A. Briner. Reynolds told ANS that Vischer "has provided millions of children and adults with memorable characters like Bob the Tomato, Larry the Cucumber, Junior Asparagus and many others."
Joseph, who with Reynolds presented the award to Vischer at the 13th Annual Biola Media Conference on May 3 in Studio City, Calif., added that Briner "was a fan of VeggieTales and would be excited about this choice."
