Fiction writers group announces winners |

American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) has announced its 2008 Book of the Year contest winners. Selected from more than 180 entries, the winning books and authors were recognized during the ACFW Conference and Awards Banquet, held Sept. 20 in Minneapolis. The winners in the respective categories were: Sushi for One? by Camy Tang (Zondervan), Debut Author; Finally Home by Deborah Raney (Barbour Publishing), Contemporary Novella; Love Notes by Mary Davis (Barbour Publishing), Historical Novella; Splitting Harriet by Tamara Leigh (Multnomah Books), Lits; Within This Circle by Deborah Raney (Steeple Hill), Long Contemporary; Veil of Fire by Marlo Schalesky (David C. Cook) and Where Willows Grow by Kim Vogel Sawyer (Bethany House Publishers/Baker Publishing Group), both in Long Historical; and Your Chariot Awaits by Lorena McCourtney (Thomas Nelson), Mystery. Other winners were: The Heart of Grace by Linda Goodnight (Steeple Hill), Short Contemporary Suspense; Caught Redhanded by Gayle Roper (Steeple Hill), Short Contemporary Suspense; Canteen Dreams by Cara Putman and Golden Days by Mary Connealy (both Barbour Publishing), both Short Historical; The Restorer's Son by Sharon Hinck (NavPress), Speculative; Black Ice by Linda Hall (WaterBrook Press), Suspense; Remember to Forget by Deborah Raney (Howard Books), Women's Fiction; and In Between by Jenny B.
