With the recent cancellation of Family Christian Stores' credit card program, the chain is extending an olive branch to customers who "use this card on a regular basis."

Family and MasterCard provider Bank of America announced in May their intention to discontinue the customer rewards service associated with the credit card. But now with "regret" for any "inconvenience" caused by the program's ending, customers have received in the mail 10 reward certificates valued at $10 each for use at Family's more than 300 locations or online. The certificates may be redeemed for regularly priced or sale products.

The ending of the program was "a difficult decision and one we did not take lightly," Family Christian Stores President and CEO Cliff Bartow said in a letter to customers who used the chain's MasterCard.

Cardholders are still be able to use the credit card, but can no longer earn Family Christian Stores certificates for points earned using the card.
