'Fireproof' continues to draw moviegoers |

For the second week in a row, Fireproof placed No. 13 at the weekend box office while earning an estimated $1.4 million from 862 theaters, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com. The surprise hit drama, which stars Kirk Cameron as a firefighter who turns to God to rescue his marriage, has made $30.2 million since it debuted at No. 4 the weekend of Sept. 26 with $6.8 million total receipts in just 839 theaters nationwide. Fireproof, which had a modest $500,000 budget, opened in more than 80 new theaters at the weekend, and has now been shown in all 50 states. A marriage book written by the film's co-producing brothers Stephen and Alex Kendrick, The Love Dare (B&H Books/B&H Publishing Group)—which was No. 2 on The New York Times Paperback Advice best-seller list the week of Nov. 14—has a million copies in print, and was in its sixth printing. A central focus of Fireproof, The Love Dare sat atop the Times Paperback Advice best-seller list the weeks of Oct. 10-24. The Love Dare has also been ranked in the top 10 best-seller lists of CBA and the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association.
