Artists Michael W. Smith, Third Day, Jaci Velasquez and Donnie McClurkin will perform at the Republican National Convention (RNC) at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Aug. 30-Sept. 2. In addition, Stephen Mansfield, author of The New York Times best-seller The Faith of George W. Bush (Charisma House), is scheduled to appear at the Bush-Cheney '04 Family, Faith and Freedom Rally at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City on Tuesday, Aug. 31, at 3 p.m. In conjunction with the event, Mansfield will discuss his book on several programs, including CNBC's Topic [A] With Tina Brown and FOX News Live, and will do a book signing at Christian Publications in New York City. Third Day will take the stage during a prime time slot alongside Vice President Dick Cheney. "Third Day supports President Bush in his reelection efforts and looks forward to working with the RNC in the coming weeks leading up to November's election," said lead vocalist Mac Powell. "George W. Bush has responded in a significant way to an issue that is very important to us personally: the pandemic of AIDS in Africa," remarked bass player Tai Anderson. "We are honored to stand up for the president who is standing up for those that are suffering around the world." Grizzly Adams Productions also will air its newly released investigative documentary, George W. Bush: Faith in the White House, at the convention. David Balsiger, producer and director, will hold a press conference on two different occasions highlighting the findings of the film, followed by the film itself at the Ramada Plaza New Yorker Hotel on Aug. 30-31, 11 a.m.-12 p.m. EDT. In addition, Salem Communications Corp. has announced that its syndicated talk show hosts Bill Bennett, Mike Gallagher, Hugh Hewitt, Michael Medved, Janet Parshall and Dennis Prager will be broadcasting live from the convention.
