Daystar Television Network co-founder and host Joni Lamb looks at the victory that can be found in surrender, in her first book.

Releasing Sept. 16, Surrender All (WaterBrook Press) shares stories from Lamb's life as well as experiences shared by her guests on the popular Joni show.

"There were so many stories I heard on the show that were compelling, and I wanted to show all kinds of scenarios," she said. "Some might say, 'Well, she was raised in a Christian home--about somebody who didn't come from that?' I wanted to show that surrender works for everybody."

It's breaking out of their comfort zones that scares so many people when it comes to the topic, she believes. "I think people have a wrong understanding of surrender," she said. "They think God may ask them to do something they don't want to do or go somewhere they don't want to go, when in reality we step into what our God-given purpose is."

Lamb wants readers to know the "peace" of aligning their will with God's. It means "you've moved from the driver's seat to the passenger's side," she said.

In the wake of best-sellers Your Best Life Now by Joel Osteen and Rick Warren's The Purpose-Driven Life, Lamb said her book is "almost a reverse of that. It's not what God can do for me, it's what happens when I surrender to Him."
