Harvest House Publishers is releasing a book that repudiates the claims of Bill Maher's religious documentary Religulous, which hit theaters last weekend.

J.P. Moreland—author of The God Question, to be released in January from Harvest House Publishers—said the book "provides a readable case for Christianity in ways not even remotely touched by Religulous," which skewers all major religions for their dogma.

"Unfortunately, the kinds of arguments raised by the sources in Religulous give no appearance of having been formulated by the best of Christian scholarship relevant to this dialogue," said Moreland, professor of philosophy at Talbot School of Theology in La Mirada, Calif. "Religulous is more like the rantings of a hurt and angry village atheist than the thoughtful response of an intelligent critic of Christianity."

The God Question is another title from the Harvest House's "ConversantLife" line of culturally relevant books. Other upcoming ConversantLife books, www.conversantlife.com, include Apologetics for a New Generation by Sean McDowell and Death by Church by Mike Erre—both to be released early next year.
