After a nationwide talent search competition, Word Label Group, the Christian Festival Association (CFA) and Artist Ovation have announced rock group Nitengale as the 2007 winner.

Based in Fairbanks, Alaska, Nitengale, which traveled to Nashville Sept. 22 for the competition, will receive an artist development agreement with Word Label Group. "Winning the competition was an unexpected blessing," members of Nitengale said.

Following submissions online, independent artists nationwide performed before a panel of music professionals at one of 16 CFA summer festivals, organizers said. Competition finalists were then chosen to perform in Nashville.
