Casting Crowns has year's top-selling album |

GRAMMY-winning band Casting Crowns has garnered the top-selling album of the year, a seventh No.1 radio hit and the highest-grossing tour in Christian music with $4.4 million in ticket sales after a three month, 36-city tour this fall, according to the group's label, Beach Street Records (Provident-Integrity). Casting Crowns' third studio album, The Altar and the Door has sold more than 450,000 units since debuting at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 Chart for the week ending Sept. 2, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The album had first week sales of 130,000 units, Beach Street Records said. Casting Crowns recently received three nominations for the 50th Annual GRAMMY Awards, which will be take place Feb. 10 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The band's song "East to West" was recognized for Best Gospel Performance and Best Gospel Song, and The Altar and the Door was nominated for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album. |
