Charlotte's Web , a perennial children's best-seller in the general market, will be released on DVD at Christian retail April 3. E.B. White's children's classic was adapted in live action by Paramount and released theatrically last December. While not overtly Christian in its message, the film, which features Fern (Dakota Fanning) and Charlotte (Julia Roberts), teaches a valuable lesson about life, death and love. The G-rated movie, which made more than $82 million in box-office sales, was lauded by Focus on the Family and The Dove Foundation.
To be distributed by Word Distribution, the DVD is available in widescreen and full-screen versions, which retail for $29.99 each. Features include a tongue-in-cheek look at the animals' on-set antics, a storybook creator where kids can develop their own themed adventures, a segment on the film's animal trainers and deleted scenes.
